While \(\circ\) is often used to represent composition of functions, it doesn't appear that anyone has invented a symbol for application of functions.

Such a symbol could help to resolve the missing multiplication symbol ambiguity.

There is a Unicode symbol, U+2061 "FUNCTION APPLICATION", but it's invisible.[1]
